Brooklyn Birthing Center is special because it is the only freestanding birth center licensed in metro New York. This practice has staff that speak English, Creole, and Spanish, honoring the diversity of the clients they serve. Located in the Midwood neighborhood, Brooklyn Birthing Center features midwifery-led births, family-centered care, and freedom and flexibility for healthy moms to choose how they want to give birth. This birth center is a safe, homelike environment that is a part of the American Association of Birth Centers.

This birth center features a team of experienced, licensed, board-certified midwives who are deeply committed to supporting and empowering women through the childbirth experience. The Brooklyn Midwifery Group offers prenatal care, annual exams, family planning services, and testing services. 

Services

This birth center aims to create a birthing setting that is comfortable for all clients. Each birthing suite is spacious enough to allow partners, relatives, doulas, and friends to attend. Birthing suites have a birthing tub, shower, regular bed, and plenty of comfortable seating, as well as a fridge, microwave, filtered water, and ice. The staff can provide blankets, pillows, and anything else to keep parents comfortable during their birthing experience. Other amenities include candles, essential oil diffusers, birthing balls, hot packs, and other labor comfort tools.

Breastfeeding is honored and celebrated at this birth center. The Lactation Program at Brooklyn Birthing Center includes comprehensive infant feeding education, lactation classes for expectant parents, and lactation-friendly practices in the birthing suites, including rooming-in and skin-to-skin.
